About A Grand Design

We at A Grand Design simply take a look at music-related artwork. The industry is high output, with labels and bands putting out hundreds of albums a week, not to mention t-shirts, hats, flyers, posters, websites, photos, and droves of promotional trinkets. The list is endless. Sometimes we notice the art, sometimes we don’t. Sometimes it’s ineffective or awe-inspiring. Musicians and artists could not function without it. Whatever you think of the entire deal, someone has to be hard at work designing everything, right?

Don’t be fooled by the mp3 pirates and myspace jockeys: design is important. Here’s your chance to give your thumbs up or thumbs down, coliseum-style, to anything we can get your hands on and stick in your face. This is how music looks.

Jay DiNitto - Editor
jay@agranddesign.org
Jay has been doing scrappy, knock-off freelance design for seven years via Daybreak Media, in additional to doing big evil corporate design at an unnamed regional bank based in Pittsburgh, PA. He consumes way too much coffee, reads too many silly philosophy books, and is running the home stretch of completing a boring book that no one will read and fewer will enjoy. He propagated his genes once and often threatens to do it again.

Seth Werkheiser has no design talent nor skill, but loves a good CD cover or tour poster. He started Grand Design features on Buzzgrinder, but saw that enough design nerds liked it that he thought it could stand on its own.
