Not sure of the artist, but I want to say Invisible Creature because of the label. This is one of the many, many CD covers that are virtually incomprehensible without looking at the rest of the layout to add to the “storyline,” if there is one.

As one commenter over at IVM astutely pointed out, the perspective of the entire thing is off, assuming that the back part of the glass rim or the hovering torch-plate thingy isn’t bent or warped. Odd.

I see the label connection, but to me it doesn’t look much like IC.

You’re right about the perspective too. If anything, the plate thing should be leaning the other way.

That perspective mistake just kills this for me. Otherwise, pretty interesting image.

Unless the glass or the torch plate are tilted more than the other…but I don’t see the need for that unless there was some sort of narrative going on.

i deigned it. the perspective cant be off, considering its an actual photograph. the bowl is suspended by wire.

Wow. Well what a strange optical illusion. Silly design nerds we be, over-analyzing photos.

Jordan, can you offer any insight into the concept of the image?

what it could be is that the fire thing is way far away and the glass is way close. that would account for it.

but, then again, everyone else might have already thought of this.
